A Different Kind of Safari

Arusha National Park offers a quieter introduction to northern Tanzania, with landscapes that shift from montane forest and open grassland to the Momella Lakes and the dramatic slopes of Mount Meru.

Its compact size makes it easy to explore without losing the sense of wilderness. The park feels intimate, green and wonderfully varied, making it especially rewarding at the beginning or end of a longer safari.

Wildlife Beyond the Vehicle

Arusha is one of the best places on the northern circuit to experience wildlife in a different way. Alongside game drives, walking safaris offer the chance to move through the landscape on foot and notice details that are easy to miss from a vehicle.

Giraffes, buffalo, zebras, antelope, monkeys and abundant birdlife can all be found here, while the Momella Lakes often attract flamingos and other waterbirds.

From Forest to Crater Views

The park’s beauty lies in its contrasts. Ngurdoto Crater adds drama to the landscape, while the Momella Lakes bring colour and reflection beneath the mountain.

Mount Meru rises above it all, shaping the atmosphere of the park and creating some of its most striking photographic backdrops. On clear days, the combination of wildlife, lakes and mountain scenery can be exceptional.

Arusha National Park, Our Way

This is a place for slowing down and noticing the details.

A walking safari, a giraffe crossing through misty grassland, colobus monkeys moving through the forest or flamingos scattered across the lake can all become memorable moments when the pace is right.
