After checking in, take time to relax and recover from your journey. Your guide will also provide a safari briefing so you are ready for the experiences ahead.

Overnight: Arusha

Day 2: Walking Safari & Game Drive in Arusha National Park

After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park, a compact but beautiful reserve set beneath the slopes of Mount Meru. Begin with a guided walking safari, giving you the rare chance to experience wildlife and the landscape on foot. Later, continue with a game drive through the park’s varied scenery before returning to Arusha.

Overnight: Arusha

Days 3–4: Game Drives in Tarangire National Park

Travel to Tarangire National Park and spend two days exploring one of northern Tanzania’s most distinctive wildlife areas. The park is especially famous for large elephant herds, impressive birdlife and landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees. Game drives also offer opportunities to see giraffes, zebras, buffalo, lions, leopards and many other species.

Overnight: Tarangire

Day 5: Tarangire - Lake Natron

After breakfast, leave Tarangire and journey toward the remote landscapes of Lake Natron. Along the way, pass Maasai villages and look out for giraffes, zebras, gazelles, baboons and birdlife across the changing terrain. Lake Natron lies beneath Ol Doinyo Lengai, Tanzania’s active volcano, and is known as much for its dramatic scenery as for its wildlife.

Overnight: Lake Natron

Day 6: Lake Walk / Maasai Village / Cascade Trek

Begin early with a guided walk through the Lake Natron area, accompanied by a local Maasai guide. The route passes through Ngare Sero village, offering insight into the daily life of Maasai communities living in this rugged environment. Continue exploring the surrounding landscape before returning to camp for a relaxed evening.

Overnight: Lake Natron

Days 7–9: Serengeti National Park - Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, travel toward the Northern Serengeti through Klein’s Gate and begin exploring one of the wildest parts of the park. Over the next three days, search for lions, wildebeest, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, antelope and abundant birdlife. The extended stay gives you time to follow wildlife movements and experience the northern plains at an unhurried pace.

Overnight: Northern Serengeti

Days 10–11: Central / Eastern Serengeti

Travel into the Central and Eastern Serengeti for two days focused strongly on big cats and private game viewing. These areas are particularly rewarding for lions and cheetahs, with occasional leopard sightings and opportunities to observe natural hunting behaviour. Spend your time exploring open plains and quieter wilderness areas where wildlife encounters can unfold naturally.

Overnight: Serengeti

Day 12: Serengeti - Ngorongoro

Leave the Serengeti and travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward your lodge or camp. Along the way, you may stop at Olduvai Gorge, where Louis and Mary Leakey made some of the world’s most significant archaeological discoveries. The small museum introduces the early human history of the region before you continue toward Ngorongoro.

Overnight: Ngorongoro

Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater

Depart early with packed breakfast and lunch before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater. Spend the day exploring the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas, flamingos and, with luck, rhino. The crater’s remarkable concentration of wildlife makes it one of the most rewarding safari areas in Tanzania.

Overnight: Manyara / Karatu area

Day 14: Village Stride in Mto wa Mbu

Begin the day with a visit to Mto wa Mbu for a guided village walk lasting around two to three hours. Meet members of the local community, learn about traditional crafts and Makonde carvings, and sample local products such as banana beer before enjoying a local lunch. Afterwards, continue into Lake Manyara National Park for wildlife viewing, beautiful scenery, birdlife and large troops of baboons.

Overnight: Lake Manyara / Karatu

Day 15: Manyara - Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast, begin your onward journey toward Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport. Depending on your travel arrangements, you may continue by road or connect by flight. Travellers continuing their holiday can also connect onward to Zanzibar for a beach extension.

Safari Ends: Arusha / Kilimanjaro / Zanzibar connection
