Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire
After breakfast, leave Arusha and travel toward Tarangire National Park, where the landscapes begin to open into classic northern Tanzania wilderness. Tarangire is famous for its enormous baobab trees and impressive elephant herds, earning it a reputation as one of the best places in the region to spend time with these gentle giants. Your first game drive introduces you to the park’s varied wildlife and distinctive scenery before continuing to your lodge or tented camp.

Day 2: Tarangire
Begin before sunrise, when the light is soft and wildlife activity often begins to build across the park. Spend the day searching for elephant families, lions, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife among baobabs, riverine woodland and open savannah. Tarangire’s rich birdlife and changing habitats also create excellent opportunities for photography throughout the day. Return to camp for a late lunch before heading out again for an afternoon game drive and sundowner.

Day 3: Tarangire - Ngorongoro Highlands
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before travelling toward the Ngorongoro Highlands. Rather than treating today simply as a transfer, the journey can include a cultural or scenic experience such as a coffee estate visit, Maasai encounter, guided walk where permitted, or time enjoying the highland landscapes and crater viewpoints. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and settle in near the crater rim, perfectly positioned for an early descent the following morning.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Start early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing on the crater floor. This remarkable ecosystem supports an unusually concentrated mix of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, rhinos and abundant birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the designated area before continuing your game drive and later ascending back to the rim. The afternoon can be spent unwinding at the lodge with tea, spa time, sunset views and dinner.

Day 5: Ngorongoro - Serengeti
After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti, carrying a packed lunch for the journey. Rather than seeing today as simply a transfer, the changing landscapes make the drive itself part of the safari experience. As you enter the Serengeti, the horizon stretches wider and the scenery opens into the vast plains for which the park is famous. Arrive at your camp or lodge and settle into the rhythm of Africa’s legendary wilderness.

Day 6: Serengeti: Full-Day Safari
Leave early with a packed breakfast to experience the Serengeti in the softer morning light. Search for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras and other wildlife while watching the plains come alive around sunrise. Depending on the day’s wildlife movements, return for lunch or enjoy breakfast in the bush before continuing your exploration. Your guide will adapt the afternoon drive toward the most productive wildlife areas.

Day 7: Serengeti: Your “Special Experience” Day
Today is designed around the kind of Serengeti experience that matters most to you. Choose a sunrise hot-air balloon flight followed by breakfast in the bush, then continue with a private game drive across the plains. Alternatively, dedicate the entire day to photography, staying with your guide and allowing time to wait for exceptional behaviour, beautiful light and stronger compositions rather than chasing the highest number of sightings.

Day 8: Final Serengeti Morning - Flight
Enjoy breakfast or an early coffee before heading out for one final game drive toward the airstrip. This last morning still holds the possibility of memorable encounters, from cheetahs and lions to elephant herds, wildebeest, hippos and the Serengeti’s diverse birdlife. Take in the plains one final time before boarding your onward flight and bringing your safari to a close.
